St Mary's Parish offers two Lenten groups this year: evening and daytime.
The evening group meets on Mondays at 7.30 pm. The final meeting will be in Holy Week on 14 April.
The daytime group meets on Tuesdays at 10.45 am (which allows those wishing to attend the 10.00 am Mass in St Mary's Basilica to do so). The final meeting will be in Holy Week on 15 April.
You are welcome to attend, even if you have missed previous sessions.
The Lent group is using the book "Many Paths Lead to Easter" by Melbourne Jesuit, Andrew Hamilton. This Lent, embark on a journey of metanoia—a transformative change of heart inspired by the Gospels. Let this beautifully designed, 76-page, full-colour companion guide your spiritual renewal through daily reflections, Sunday readings and reflections, spiritual direction and prayers.
Enrich your experience with bonus features, including artwork reflections and visio divina: a prayerful encounter with sacred art; "The Passion of St Thérèse": a poignant reflection by Monsignor Graham Schmitzer marking the centenary of her canonisation; and a detailed examination of conscience to deepen your Lenten journey.
We are honoured to welcome Fr John Corrigan, whose Gospel reflections illuminate Christ’s teachings, and Mother Hilda Scott OSB, our spiritual director, who invites us into a deeper encounter with God’s love.
The daily reflections have been crafted by 21 clergy, religious, and lay contributors from across the globe. Metanoia is rich with insights that inspire and challenge us to live the true meaning of Lent. Whether you are journeying individually or with a group, Metanoia offers the tools to rediscover hope, mercy, and the life-giving power of God’s grace.
Let this beautiful book lead you to a change of heart and a deeper walk with Christ.
